ABOUT ULUSABA : Ulusaba Private Game Reserve is in the western sector of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and is close to the Kruger National Park in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa.  Experience an African safari experience of a lifetime at Ulusaba private game reserve, which is famous not only for amazing wildlife experiences, but also as being the brainchild of 'Rebel Billionaire' Sir Richard Branson.  Ulusaba game reserve covers 10,000 hectares of unspoilt and immensely game-rich African bushland and game drives are a revelation with experienced game rangers and trackers. 

WILDLIFE : Ulusaba falls within the Big 5 territory of the Sabi Sands game reserve and therefore shares wildlife with the Kruger National Park as there are no fences between these reserves, and game are free to traverse this huge area.  The wildlife that is to be found at Ulusaba private game reserve is therefore hugely diverse, including the most notable from elephants, lions, leopards, rhino, cheetah, servals, wild dogs, jackals, various antelope species, giraffe, etc.  As the 10,000 hectares of Ulusaba are privately owned, the rangers are free to traverse where they like and are often able to get amazing sightings offroad.  There are over 300 recorded bird species at Ulusaba Game Reserve.

ACTIVITIES :  Nothing is too much trouble for guests at Ulusaba as staff go all out to please their guests.  Game drives are conducted in early mornings and evenings by knowledgeable guides.  After breakfast is the daily bush walk, where guests can discover fascinating facts about the smaller animals, insects and plants that make up the whole ecosystem and which are usually not seen from the game drives.   Community tours are conducted in the local Shangaan village which is supported by the reserve.  A gym, swimming pool and 2 tennis courts are also always available to guests, so there is always something to do. 

CHILDREN : A lot of thought has gone into how to make children as happy and comfortable as possible whilst enjoying their own brand of African safari.  Special meals, storytimes, free babysitting, walks, drives (subject to age), activities, activity packs, DVD shows, supplies of favourite books etc are all provided to Ulusaba's 'cubs'.

GETTING THERE : Ulusaba has its own airstrip for those choosing a private charter. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Johannesburg International airport flying by a single engine aircraft, or 30 minutes from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport (KMIA).

BY ROAD : Take the N4/N12 to Nelspruit. Follow the R40 from Nelspruit through White River to Hazyview. 
In Hazyview follow the signs to Paul Kruger Gate, turning onto the R536.  After 32kms you will see a signpost for Ulusaba on your left.  You will enter Newington Gate, which is where you will enter the Sabi Sand Reserve. You will pay a R60–00 entrance fee. Once through Newington Gate, follow all signposts to Ulusaba. You will travel for approximately 17kms after entering Newington Gate.  Expect to travel +/- 5 - 6 hours from Johannesburg.
