ACCOMMODATION
: Each camp
at Makalali has six luxury double suites with en-suite bathrooms,
outdoor showers, fireplaces and raised timber ‘salas’ (private viewing
decks / lounges). Each of the rooms is individually decorated in
African design styles with sculptured metalwork lamp shades and taps,
and ceramic basins. Mosquito nets surround the king-size beds by night
offering a romantic safari setting. Extras include insect repellent,
hairdryers and bathrobes
CONFERENCES :
Makalali offers a group
entertainment / conference centre situated at Tandane camp. The centre
consists of a
unique thatch-covered main building, an open kitchen and
entertainment
area. Flame torches create a mystical and fiery African ambience at
night. Tandane conference centre seats a maximum of 36 delegates in
U-shape and 60 guests cinema style, with all standard conference
equipment.
WEDDINGS :
Makalali has gained a
reputation as an ideal wedding location. The superb facilities,
excellent service and the setting combine to create a special wedding
day, with perfect memories which will stay with you forever. Tandane
camp in Makalali lodge has a perfect venue which consists of a unique
thatch-covered main building, an open kitchen and entertainment area
together with aprivate swimming pool. Flame torches create a mystical
and fiery African ambience at night.
ACTIVITIES :
Morning and
afternoon game drives are offered in addition to bush walks and bird
watching. Children are welcomed at Makalali Game Reserve, and
activities are arranged for children by the camp staff. Other
activities arranged at the lodge include scenic flights over the
Hoedspruit mountains, river rafting, cultural village visits and various
tours.
GETTING
THERE : Guests can choose to fly or drive to Makalali Game
reserve. Aircraft can be chartered to Makalali's own airstrip or

HEALTH & COMFORT
:
Makalali
is in a malaria area and malaria tablets are recommended all year round
(Please consult your doctor). Comfortable light clothing, walking
shoes, sun hats, sunglasses, sun-block, insect repellent and bathing
suits. During wintertime it is still warm during the day but it can
become very cold on the game drives and at night. It is advisable
to bring warm insulated jackets. Don’t forget camera, spare film and
binoculars.
