Ivory Tree Game Lodge is a brand new lodge situated in the
north-eastern region of Pilanesberg Game Reserve, with the
closest point of entry being the Bakgatla gate.
Pilanesberg reserve is on the doorstep
of Sun City and The Lost City and the nearby attractions make
for a wonderfully varied holiday. |

riverine woodlands and elephant trails lies an exclusive lodge

Wildlife |
Pilanesberg
National Park is home to all of the big 5 - elephants, rhino and
buffalo, leopard & lion, in addition to many other species of
game and over 360 bird species. Pilanesberg National Park,
which covers some 55 000 hectare, is the fourth largest in
southern Africa. This malaria-free park is perched on the eroded
vestiges of an alkaline volcanic crater - one of only three such
craters in the world and is characterised by undulating hills
and everlasting open plains. |

Lodge |
The central lodge
features a stunning swimming pool, a bar, dining room, and a
central lounge. The reception area also contains a curio
shop for the convenience of guests. The lodge also has a
full conference facility for up to 70 delegates. |

Rooms |
Ivory Tree lodge has
60 double suites, which surround the edges of the amphitheater
basin. Each luxurious suite is equipped with
air-conditioning, mini bar fridges, and tea and coffee making
facilities. The suites also feature a full en-suite
bathroom with twin basins, luxury bath and outdoor showers. |

Activities |
The emphasis at Ivory Tree lodge is on game viewing in the form
of game drives and bush walks with experienced rangers.
However, there is a huge array of activities which can be
arranged from the lodge including hot-air ballooning,
elephant back rides,
clay pigeon shooting, quad biking, as well as team-building
skills such as bush orientation. Sun City and the Lost
City are also near neighbours, which also offer a huge variety
of activities and entertainment. |

Getting there |
By Road : From Johannesburg, drive on N1 to the Western
bypass, and get onto the R512, and continue with R512 past
Lanseria towards Brits and cross the bridge over Hartebeestport
Dam. Turn left onto the N4 towards Rustenburg (around
65kms). At Rustenburg, take R510 and follow signs to Sun
City, Lost City & Pilanesberg Game Reserve. You will
continue on the R510 for 68kms, passing Kana, Tsitsing, passing
over the R556 and passing Mogwase until you turn left towards
Saulspoort and Bakgatla Gate at Pilanesberg Reserve. The
journey will take around 2 hours. |

What to bring |
Warm clothing for winter game drives is essential. It is
advisable to bring a good pair of walking shoes and a sun hat,
sunglasses, sunscreen and swimming costume. Don't forget your
camera, binoculars and plenty of spare film. |
