WHY CHOOSE GROOTBOS? : Grootbos Private Nature Resere specialises in conference groups from 10 - 60 delegates and is a perfect conventions and conferences venue as the reserve is closed off to non-resident guests and the delegates have the run of the 1700 hectares of fynbos and milkwood forests overlooking Walker Bay and the Atlantic Ocean for scenic wilderness adventures.  Delegates are provided with luxury accommodation with twin beds, heated blankets, down duvets and finest cotton sheets. Rooms have luxury en-suite bathrooms, private balconies or sun decks, mini-bars and tea & coffee making facilities. Exclusive use of Grootbos lodge can be arranged for the duration of a conference which allows for a flexible itinerary and delegates will have the run of the lodge, with its restaurant, bar, lounge and conference room, as well as all of the activities and facilities available on the reserve such as horseback riding tours.

CONFERENCE SPACE: Grootbos has State of the art conference facilities and is highly flexible. One large conference room seats up to 60 persons, or it can be subdivided into up to 3 smaller rooms : A u-shaped seating arrangement for 36 delegates, cinema-style for 60 delegates and boardroom-style for 26 delegates. Breakaway rooms are also available during the conference. These rooms have plenty of wall space and are very close to the main conference facility and lodge.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES : Grootbos is equipped with modern audio-visual and media requirements such as video conferencing, VOIP phones, wireless internet access, data projectors, DVD players, video and television equipment, flip charts and large white screens. Additional services such as fax, photocopying and a postal service are available with the special Grootbos Secretarial Service set out to offer a flexible service that will have you astonished.

REFRESHMENTS : Morning and afternoon tea and coffee are served with an abundance of biscuits and freshly baked cake on the outside terrace. Lunch gourmet buffets are prepared on demand and with a variety of individual choices. An own bistro is integral part of the facility and caters for any additional mid workshop craving. Meals are arranged in advance acccording to the tastes and preferences of the group and special arrangements can be made for dietary requirements. Fine South African and International wines can be selected as accompaniments. Themed evenings such as drumming, live music, motivational speakers, year end functions and parties are arranged to make the stay at Grootbos a success for every company’s requirements.

ACTIVITIES : The guiding team of eight professional guides will provide an exciting programme of activities for the delegates. All of the standard guided activities offered at Grootbos are available. These include horse riding, fynbos and forest walks on the reserve, coastal cliff and beach tours. There are also specially devised programmes including visits to Klipgat cave, barge trips on the Stanford River, boat trips to Dyer Island to view the Seals and Penguins, boat-based whale watching (June - November) or boat trips to view the great white sharks.

TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES : Special team-building activities can be arranged to suit the needs of your company and the goals of your conference. An example is a team orienteering event incorporating horse riding, biking, compass reading, shooting, resource management and a tight time schedule. Our team building events have received rave reviews. Other options include tailor made strategic treasure hunts, horseback riding tours, scenic wilderness adventures, orienteering exercises and beach olympics. These activities are based on the reserve, the beach and in the surrounding area.
